Welcome to Maths Week Scotland, a brand new initiative to help everyone in our nation see maths positively. Our aim is for everyone to experience the benefits, joy and beauty of maths in exciting new ways. From September we expect to see maths explored and celebrated throughout Scotland, and we very much hope that you will participate in some way.
Maths Week is being created as a result of the Making Maths Count group’s recommendations as a way to raise the profile of maths and its importance in all aspects of our lives. If you’d like to read more, the report of the group is here.
2017 will be our inaugural year. We’re planning a variety of activities and, even more importantly, we want you to participate and tell us what you’re planning. Over the next few weeks we’ll be publishing resources and suggestions for how you, your school, college, university, community organisation and your family could take part. Why not read our blog, get some inspiration and share your activities with us using #mathsweekscot
