Independent Adviser on Tenant Farming

Independent Adviser on Tenant Farming (IATF)

The role of Independent Adviser on Tenant Farming  ended on 31 March 2017.   The IATF’s role was to facilitate the potential for reform in the tenant farming industry, working collaboratively with stakeholders.  In doing so the IATF produced a number of progress bulletins, providing vital pointers to the industry, together with joint industry guidance on key issues. In support of this work the IATF also undertook caseworking.

Scottish Land Commission & Tenant Farming Commissioner (TFC)

The new Non Departmental Public Body, the Scottish Land Commission, and the role of Tenant Farming Commissioner, were created under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2016.  Both became operative from 1 April 2017.  The role of TFC was one of the main recommendations contained within the Agricultural Holdings Legislation Review Group's Final Report published in January 2015.  Further information on the Scottish Land Commission and TFC, including links to industry guidance can be found here: www.landcommission.gov.scot
