Scottish Environment Statistics Online Data Updates (http://www.scotland.gov.uk/seso/)
SESO is an online data dissemination tool, which accompanies Key Scottish Environment Statistics and is an official statistics publication.
Datasets updated since April 8th 2013 are;
Scottish Greenhouse Gas Emissions 2011 (published June 7th) (http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2013/06/1558)
This publication provides estimates of greenhouse gas emissions in Scotland for 2011. The release also provides information on the performance against emission reduction targets taking account of trading in carbon units.
Scotland Performs Sustainablity Purpose Targets
The Sustainability Purpose Target was also updated on the 7th of June. These targets are to reduce emissions over the period to 2011 and to reduce emissions by 80% by the year 2050.
Local Authority Carbon Dioxide Emissions 2011 (published by DECC on July 11th)
DECC publish a full dataset and also include a dataset on "Carbon dioxide emissions within the scope of influence of local authorities". This dataset excludes emissions from large industrial plants in the EU Emissions Trading System, motorway traffic and LULUCF, considered not to be in the control of the local authority.
Natural Environment Statistics Advisory Committee (NESAC)
The 24th meeting of the NESAC scheduled to take place on the 4th of April was cancelled. There are no plans to reschedule this meeting. The next meeting will take place towards the end of this year.
Scotland's Environment Web
There is continued development of Scotland's environment website (http://www.environment.scotland.gov.uk/). We, together with others, will contribute to developing the trends and indicators section of the website. We will update users of any major developments.
