Scottish Retail Sales Index – Main Findings
Retail sales in Scotland fell by 0.4 per cent in volume terms after seasonal adjustment during the first quarter of 2017.
On an annual basis, comparing the latest quarter to the same quarter of the previous year (2017 Q1 on 2016 Q1), retail sales volumes grew by 0.2 per cent.
The value of Scottish retail sales, after seasonal adjustment but without adjusting for inflation, grew by 0.5 per cent from the previous quarter, and grew by 1.8 per cent comparing the latest quarter to the same quarter of the previous year.
