Scottish Retail Sales Index – Main Mindings
Retail sales in Scotland fell by 0.5 per cent in volume terms after seasonal adjustment during the fourth quarter of 2016.
On an annual basis, comparing the latest quarter to the same quarter of the previous year (2016 Q4 on 2015 Q4), retail sales volumes grew by 3.1 per cent.
The value of Scottish retail sales, after seasonal adjustment but without adjusting for inflation, grew by 0.3 per cent from the previous quarter, and by 2.7 per cent comparing the latest quarter to the same quarter of the previous year.
