Scottish Retail Sales Index – main findings
Retail sales in Scotland increased by 0.7 per cent in volume terms during the first quarter of 2016.
On an annual basis, comparing the latest quarter to the same quarter of the previous year (2016 Q1 on 2015 Q4), retail sales volumes grew by 2.7 per cent.
The value of Scottish retail sales, without adjusting for inflation, during the first quarter of 2016 grew by 0.1 per cent from the previous quarter, and grew by 0.1 per cent comparing the latest quarter to the same quarter of the previous year.
