Scottish Retail Sales Index – main findings
Retail sales in Scotland increased by 0.1 per cent in volume terms during the first quarter of 2014.
On an annual basis, comparing the latest quarter to the same quarter of the previous year (2014 Q1 on 2013 Q1), retail sales volumes grew by 2.4 per cent.
Retail sales in Great Britain increased by 0.7 per cent in volume terms during the first quarter of 2014, and grew by 4.2 per cent annually (2014 Q1 on 2013 Q1).
