Homicide in Scotland, 2017-18

In 2017-18, there were 59 cases of homicide involving 59 victims. This represents a decrease of 6 victims from 2016-17. There were 81 persons accused of homicide in Scotland in 2017-18.

In 2017-18, 76% of the victims of homicide were male, and 95% of those accused of homicide were male. The majority of male (53%) and female (93%) victims were killed in a dwelling.
