AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS IN SCOTLAND
The Board of Agriculture was formed in 1911 for the promotion of interests of agriculture, forestry and other rural industries. Agriculture Statistics in Scotland 1912 was published in 1913 and included livestock numbers and agricultural land use , crop area production and yield statistics. Subsequent editions of Agriculture Statistics in Scotland included prices and labour statistics. Agriculture Statistics in Scotland was published until 1978 and replaced by the Economic Report on Scottish Agriculture in 1980 which is still published today.

SCOTTISH AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS
Scottish Agricultural Economics was first published in 1950. The publication was a study of the economic conditions of Scottish farming at that time. Each volume typically had articles about the agricultural output of Scotland , the financial results of farming in Scotland , milk production costs and articles of topical interest including :-
- Mechanisation in Scottish agriculture (Volumes V , VII and X)
- Farm machinery statistics (Volume III)
- Post-war trends in hill sheep farming (Volume II)
- Changing labour situation (Volume X)
