Health and Social Care Research

The Scottish Government carries out a wide range of research into health and social care to support, inform and evaluate government policy.

The Chief Scientist Office funds research across the spectrum of the field of health, from lab-based projects to studies into improving the health service. It also invests in the NHS, supporting the infrastructure for research.

Social research into health and social care is carried out by a team of researchers based in the Health Analytical Services Division.
