The Public and Voluntary Sectors
The Scottish Government is committed to engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across Scotland to hear their views on the proposed Children and Young People Bill. Therefore, during the formal public consultation period, a wide range of events, seminars and meetings are taking place across the country. Over 800 stakeholders, from across the public and voluntary sector, will be attending the six national engagement events that are being held. In addition, a number of smaller seminars and meetings are planned over the summer with organisations that are likely to be impacted by the Bill or who will have a particular interest in the Bill.
Children and Young People
Engaging with children and young people is an incredibly important part of the engagement activity on the Children and Young People Bill. In recognition of this, the Children’s Parliament, Scottish Youth Parliament and Young Scot, who have great expertise in working with children and young people, have been commissioned to undertake a range of engagement activities with children and young people across Scotland.
As part of this they have kindly agreed to produce child and young people friendly materials which they will make available for other organisations to use for their own engagement activity if they wish to do so:
Young Scot has produced an online survey.
Additional materials from Young Scot, Children’s Parliament and the Scottish Youth Parliament will become available in the next few days.
