CALM Scotland

CALM (Comprehensive Accredited Lawyer Mediators) are solicitors who have combined many years of family law experience with intensive training in mediation skill. This combination of practical experience and legal knowledge together with a sympathetic approach makes lawyer mediators ideally equipped to deal with all issues which might arise.

Citizens Advice

You can get information about your rights on Citizens Advice Scotland's public information website Local Citizens Advice Bureaux can offer you advice on matters such as relationship breakdown, caring for children and options for resolving disputes. You can find details of your local office in the phone book or on Citizens Advice Scotand's website

Couple Counselling Scotland

Couple Counselling Scotland is established for the public benefit to:

  • promote, develop and co-ordinate a confidential counselling service throughout Scotland for people in marriage and other intimate personal relationships
  • ensure the maintenance of high standards of practice and quality assurance of the couple counselling service as delivered by member organisations
  • provide and publish information and conduct research on aspects of marriage and family life
  • develop working relationships with persons and organisations concerned with marriage and family life

Equality Network

The Equality Network campaigns for equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Scotland. It creates ways for people to contribute to making Scotland a place in which everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can live free from hatred, prejudice and discrimination.

Family Law Association

The Family Law Association website gives you access to solicitors throughout Scotland who are either accredited family law specialists, experienced in family law, or have an extensive interest in that field. The Association's website has a number of FAQs (frequently asked questions) that you may find helpful.

Family Mediation Scotland

Family mediation is a voluntary process which gives parents who are separating or living apart the opportunity to make their own arrangements for their children's future. Family Mediation Scotland (FMS) provides a network of family mediation services across mainland and island Scotland.

National Records of Scotland

The National Records of Scotland is responsible for the registration of births, marriages, civil partnerships, deaths, divorces, adoptions and parental orders. It runs the Census and uses Census and other data to publish information about population and households.
