The Scottish Government published Delivering for Remote and Rural Healthcare, establishing a framework for sustainable healthcare in rural Scotland. The Remote and Rural Implementation Group was formed to implement these recommendations, and completed its work in October 2010 with the publication of its final report.
The North of Scotland Planning Group continues to support NHS Boards to implement the actions and further recommendations contained in the Remote and Rural Implementation Group's final report. Issues currently being considered include:
- Reviewing terms and conditions for GPs working in Community Hospitals
- Identifying the skills and competencies required to deliver safe emergency care in Rural General Hospitals
- Reviewing Obligate Networks
