National framework agreement for the supply of electricity for the Scottish public sector.

What is in scope?

Electricity supply for: half hourly, non half hourly and domestic metered sites, and un-metered supply points.

Note: It is the responsibility of any buying organisation wishing to use the Framework Agreement to satisfy itself that it is eligible to do so. Entitlement can be established from the terms of the OJEU advert and guidance on this can be found in Annex A of Scottish Government Guidance on Framework Agreements. If there is any doubt, legal advice should be sought.


  • Estimated savings of £40 million over initial 3 year period.

Promoting greener power: These national arrangements assist public bodies to address emissions from energy use through a range of energy efficiency measures, access to renewable generation sources and opportunities to sell green electricity back to the grid.

  • Support to vulnerable customers via  the EDF Energy Trust Fund

  • A large number of Scottish schools participating in EDF’s web based interactive tool promoting education and awareness of energy and environmental matters

  • Scottish based apprentices employed by EDF, with the intention of offering employment at the end of their apprenticeship

  • EDF fund several research programmes via the Energy Technology Institute running at several Scottish universities.
