Occupational Health Framework Agreement

Overview The purpose of this framework agreement is to ensure that the continuing needs of the collaborative partners are met with regards to occupational health services.
What is in scope?

Core services:

  • case referrals
  • case conferences
  • ill health retirement assessments
  • pre-employment referrals
  • full medicals
  • generic advice - case management

Non core services:

  • statutory and non statutory health surveillance
  • injury benefits and other pension benefits
  • health screening
  • lifestyle screening
  • immunication/vaccination
  • workplace assessments
  • specialist medicals/examinations
  • diagnostic testing and laboratory investigations
  • specialist interventions and alternative therapies
  • health promotion activity
  • overseas work advice
  • awareness training and support for policy development
  • onsite service delivery
  • home visits
  • 'fast track'/emergency appointments
What is out of scope?
  • educational psychology issues
  • therapeutic intervention for mental health
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and welfare services
Who is this available to?

The framework is accessible to public bodies in the Scottish central government sector including Scottish Ministers (including agencies such as the Scottish Prison Service), Scottish Non-Departmental Public Bodies, non-ministerial departments, some public corporations, tribunals, commissioners and ombudsman, any public body established by or under the Scotland Act 1998 or any Act of the Scottish Parliament (including bodies financed, subject to management supervision or appointed by one or more of the foregoing bodies) and other relevant affiliated public bodies including the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body.

Note: It is the responsibility of any buying organisation wishing to use the framework agreement to satisfy itself that it is eligible to do so. Entitlement can be established from the terms of the OJEU advert and guidance on this can be found in Annex A of Scottish Government Guidance on Framework Agreements.   • maximising attendance (reducing and preventing absence)
  • ensuring the collaborative partners are legally compliant and adhere to medical best practice
  • facilitating employees being fit for employment
  • promoting employee health, wellbeing and safety
  • providing advice and support for the Human Resource (HR) departments ensuring best fit for the organisation rather than simply best practice
  • assisting collaborative partners with ill-health retirement applications where appropriate
  • compliance with the collaborative partners’ processes
