Green ICT Strategy to help public sector organisations.

14 May 2015

One of the drivers for Scotland’s Digital Future: Delivery of Public Services  is to ensure ICT is deployed in an energy-efficient manner which reduces the carbon footprint of Scottish public sector organisations. The Green ICT Strategy has recently been developed to help Scottish public sector organisations address this.

Organisations can contribute to their own vision for a cost effective, sustainable and energy efficient ICT estate by purchasing through our National Frameworks (e.g. Desktop and Mobile Computing, Web Conferencing and our forthcoming Hosting framework).  As part of the technical solutions, these frameworks mandate the latest energy efficiency and environmental certification, minimising the effect of ICT on the environment by significantly reducing CO2 emissions.

Further information on the frameworks can be obtained from our Contracts Directory.
