We are delighted to announce that our Collaborative Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Procurement team have made the shortlist for the 2017 World Procurement Awards in two categories; Procurement Team and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Being shortlisted for these awards recognises the team's outstanding contribution to the delivery of ICT and digital ambitions across the Scottish public sector. They have delivered around £50 million of cash savings in the last financial year (2015-2016). Their approach includes:
- sharing of best practice
- learning and development
- flexible resourcing and
- a collective approach to continuous improvement
The team has also established a set of frameworks for the supply of ICT client devices which have a strong focus on corporate social responsibility. Details of the framework, its focus and outcomes are the subject of a case study.
Denis McFadden, Senior Portfolio Manager at the Scottish Government Collaborative ICT Procurement team said:
"To be recognised by a global panel of judges is a huge achievement. This year saw a record number of entries from some of the most influential companies across 36 countries for the 11th annual awards, proving the bar has been raised in terms of innovation and dedication to procurement excellence."
Winners will be announced on 17 May at a ceremony in London following the World Procurement Congress. The full shortlist is available on the World Procurement Awards website.
