Pesticides Disposal Scheme 2015

A free scheme to help remove dangerous banned pesticides from Scotland's environment was open for requests between 23 February and 29 May 2015. The scheme allowed those in possession of these substances to have them collected and disposed of, safely and confidentially. It was funded by the Scottish Government and supported and promoted by land management stakeholders in PAW Scotland.

The following pesticide types were accepted through the scheme

  • Aldicarb
  • Carbofuran
  • Carbosulfan
  • Isofenphos
  • Mevinphos
  • Sodium cyanide (Cymag)
  • Strychnine
  • Most types of Bendiocarb (except legally available products Ficam D and Ficam W)
  • Banned or expired formulations of Chloralose, especially those containing more than 5% Chloralose (weaker ready-to-use formulations are still legally sold for indoor rodent control);
  • Banned or expired formulations of Aluminium phosphide.

The scheme is now closed.
