Project SOE (Security in the Operational Environment) is launching a Biocides and Pesticides Disposal Scheme from 3rd January to 14th March 2011, across the UK.
The scheme will make it possible to dispose of any unwanted, out of date or revoked biocides and pesticides, for a one off cost of £20.00. Any farmers, growers, gamekeepers and pest controllers who believe that they may be in possession of such chemicals are encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to dispose of dangerous chemicals.
Registration for the scheme will open on Friday 17th December. Please check the definitions and rules before you apply.
A PAW Scotland spokesperson said;
"PAW Scotland welcomes this scheme and hopes that it will contribute to removing some of the chemicals that we all too frequently find involved in the poisoning of our wildlife.
This scheme is operating on a first come first served basis, while funding lasts. I'd encourage all our partners to make their membership aware of it."
Project SOE is an initiative which focuses on security issues within the agricultural environment. Their website outlines the rules of the scheme and provides application forms.
