Legislation, Regulation and Guidance Sub-group
The PAW Scotland Legislation, Regulation and Guidance Sub-group was created to review the operation in practice of wildlife legislation and regulations; identify areas for improvement and make recommendations. To produce guidance for wildlife crime law enforcement practitioners, land managers and other countryside users.

Chair - Professor Colin T. Reid - University of Dundee
Professor Reid joined the University of Dundee in 1991 and has been Professor of Environmental Law since 1995. He has written widely on environmental issues, including three editions of a book on Nature Conservation Law. Other work includes a Research Council funded project on 'The Privatisation of Biodiversity?', examining new approaches to conservation law in the UK such as biodiversity offsets and payment for ecosystem services.
He was the founding Convener of the Environmental Law Section of the Society of Legal Scholars and a founding member of the UK Environmental Law Association. Additionally, Professor Reid is a member of the IUCN Environmental Law Commission, of the Law Society of Scotland’s Environmental Law Sub-committee, and of the editorial boards of several leading academic journals.
